hah Thanks, man. And thanks Ryan for the laugh in picking me out to try to steal my email! lol
Hey more power to them and their blog site. I’ve never really lost respect for a site as much as I have recently for them. I mean seriously, you’re going to ban someone based solely on who he knows? That is an incredibly childish thing to do…what are we, in frackin grade school?
“I don’t like you because you like that kid and he smells funny”
My god, get out of the playground and grow up. That pretty much solidified why I won’t be going back there (not just because I can’t anymore). I’m still staying neutral and refuse to say anything more negative about them…but really, their actions speak for themselves. Do I need to say more? hah

Hey man, great cast. Kudos to you and Ryan.
Anyway, just wanted to throw it out that I am very humbled by your apology on air. I guess something about the previous episode set me off (anger breeds more anger?) and having time now separating listening to it and my public apology a few days back has mellowed me and realize something:
In an attempt to point out that you can sometimes be unnecessarily confrontational, I myself was extremely unnecessarily confrontational. And I wanted to apologize again for that.
So keep up the good fight Yak! I may have gotten confused about your style once and reacted badly but its not a mistake I’ll be making again!
And regarding the utterly ridiculous claims of copyrighting infringement and now this equally boggling banning/suspension of Sylvurdragon on their site, I hope you and Ryan COMPLETELY DESTROY their reputation with this info brought public. Serves ‘em right, let them have their circle jerk.
-
@Meepodm Hehehe yep anger does breed more anger. I like that saying and may have to use it some where.
One hand washes the other my friend. Thanks for excepting my apology as I do yours.
Thanks for your comments and support!@Sylvurdragon Remember no one likes to be the stinky kid, LMAO. I love your example as it is so true!

I agree that the initial response should not have been deleted. Here is where I think Yak went wrong. The piece she wrote was most obviously an opinion piece derived from the forums and sites that she participates on.
“why even write an article of lies?” You may see this as friendly but it really isn’t. You are calling someones expressed views (be they Cindy’s or fellow forum participants) a lie. This is no different from anyone telling you that your opinion is a lie. Something I am sure you wouldn’t be to happy about either.
“Also, you have not done your research and have no idea what you are talking about in regards to this game.” This sentence has no constructive purpose to the debate other than to belittle the original poster. You are telling her that what she views as concerns or opinions on those sites is invalid. Once again, you are angered by the same treatment.
“Please check your facts before you most things that are not accurate.” Can you prove they are not accurate? As you have said, show me the source.
“Sure, I am coming off aggressive but doesn’t everyone do so in a friendly debate?” No. Perhaps in some circles yes. However not all people feel that aggressive tones are ok in a debate. You may not feel you were being aggressive, but you are not everyone else. You can’t assume others are not offended by things just cause you aren’t. Friendly debates usually contain respect and understanding that the opposing views may differ from your own. Something you both failed to do.
“I am not personally attacking or all or even close.” You may not think so, but the fact is you called her post an “article of lies” and told her “you have not done your research and have no idea what you are talking about in regards to this game.” These are statements that are judgmental, directed to her personally, and are understandably taken personally. Id feel the same way if you called me out in this manner.
“Or was Yak wrong and this site is about Rainbows and Unicorns.” Here you are deviating from the post topic and now beginning to use derogatory phrases about the site on which you are posting. MMOV is about respectful debates between adults. Insulting the site fails to come close to the sites standards for which you agreed to when joining.
You asked for the sources and she gave them to you. Sure they were not the specifics that you were looking for, but the information is there. In the end this was a difference of opinion that got way out of hand from both sides. In your other podcast in response to the issue, you did little to prove points other than degrade your argument with childish insults. Which is a shame cause I think you had a point before taking that path.
Im not condoning how it was handled after the removal process. What I am saying is that in this argument that Yak can’t feign innocent in how this played out. Yak has on several occasion used aggressive and sometimes offensive tactics in his posts. It has been addressed, and unfortunately ignored.
Do I think Yak’s comments were out of line? Not entirely. I think in the past that he has been much more out of line. However these comments do have an aggressive and disrespectful tone. You can’t claim they don’t. The site wasn’t meant for you. Not trying to be judgmental, its just a fact. I am sure you understand that and would agree.
Both sides really degraded such a small thing into a total shit show.
Also btw, MMOVoices isn’t for profit. The ads are from the people that host the site on the Ning networks.
Anyway, this was a much better representation of your side of the argument. I really couldn’t even pull anything decent from that last one lol. Gotta do what you gotta do I guess.
Respectfully,
Gavin -
@Yogi Looks like someone learned how to use quotations. Here we go again with the flocking money out to defend Cindy. I really don’t feel like hiring a stenographer to type up my rant, as this would be my response. I still stand by everything I said. At least we agree on something that a Yak has to do what a Yak has to do.
-
I’m not here to defend Cindy, just point out some of the stuff I think is noteworthy from the opposite perspective. I think MMOV made just as many mistakes as I feel you have. If nothing else Id hope that you could understand that I am approaching the issue considering your perspective and hers. Im not here to pat either side on the back. Just engaging in friendly debate.
-
I think the way MMOV handled the web site issue was a lapse in judgment. I am hopeful that they will learn a more appropriate way to take care of these issues in the future. The last thing I want is for people to feel like MMOV is a place where you cannot express your opinion.
That said it is my opinion that your comments were worded ( in some places) that were not constructive to the post as a whole. Im not an admin for the site, just a humble participant. No one gets anywhere, gains knowledge, or better understanding by refusing to try and understand the opposing perspective.
My quotes were just a way of illustrating where that perspective is coming from.
Take it how you will.

“The last thing I want is for people to feel like MMOV is a place where you cannot express your opinion. ”
That ship has sailed.
Dont get me wrong, Yak’s posts may have been slightly aggressive, or even personal, but to remove it from the site completely? and to top it all off you FILE COPYRIGHT WITHOUT WARNING on the whole mmosmacktalk domain, which has really has nothing to do with the domain owner, Ryan.
Your actions of deleting posts and filing copyright, brings me to one conclusion, that you people at Mmovoices are spineless scum, that cant handle any kind of views contradicting your own.
Please get a backbone, it is very apparent that you guys over at mmovoices have no care or respect for other peoples hard work. Whether it comes to other peoples sites or just games in general.
Personally, I hope your site dies and I hope people realise how full of shit Mmovoices really is.
Please say something about Darkfall, so I can come over and skullfuck your site.

@Yogi/Gavin: You made some of solid points; and in light of your twitter comments, I’m glad that you took the time to flesh out your perspective for us. (I’m making the assumption that this is twitter user GavinFYG).
@sylvurdragon: For some reason your name is easier on my noggin that meepdm…
@meepdm: Thanks for the “kudos”.
@H.Slayer: Lord Slayer, you are a bulwark! And your comment re darkfall and skullfucking made me laugh.

@Yak: Yea it was nice to hear you perspective on it, and I think your feedback was fine. You said that it depends on what you like which is true, everyone looks for something different in games. No point in paying for something that isnt for you.
Though IMO you cant review darkfall from just starting out, and hanging around in the npc cities, because that is basicly just the surface of the game.
There is so much depth that you didnt experience, because either you didnt have the opportunity, or you didnt know where to go. It really doesnt start until you are situated in a clan, and have some people to roll around with. Most of the people playing are in or around clan cities/chaos cities killing mobs/people or harvesting/crafting. Atleast thats on EU server, cant speak on NA.
Which is why I get pissed of at these review sites that try to trash darkfall, because they only experience like 2% of the actual game content. Which is kind of like the Eurogamer cast Ryan did a while back.
You can also solo and still have fun, but I think for someone just starting out, you need something to make you keep on going, and you arent gonna find that something in the starter towns.
The thing about the UI, it does take some time to get used to, but the great thing about it is you can make the UI look exactly how you like, all you gotta do is drag the windows around or change the size in settings. Only thing I hate about it is how much fps it takes, I close all my UI windows I gain about 100 fps, its crazy.
Though I hope you give it another shot at some point, join up with Ryan and let him show you the more in depth things. Go to a siege and watch your fps drop to nothing as 2 opposing clans numbering in the hundreds battle it out for a city or hamlet xD
@Ryan: Well I really just cant stand how spineless some people can be.
I mean I can let the removing of Yak’s comments slide, because at the end of the day, its their site (even though i dont agree with those chicken-shit tactics, but hey, thats their choice)
Personally though, if someone has a different opinion than I do, then we discuss and debate it, we might not agree in the end, but atleast we got our views across. Now I thought that was normal but apparently not.
Though what I cant agree with is filing copyright on your site, with no warning. Thats some real spineless shit to do right there. Atleast send an email or something explaining the situation.
Besides all that, nice cast,
Looking forward to the next,H.Slayer

@H.Slayer Thanks for the feedback. You said it correctly to find some thing with in DFO or any game really that keeps you going. I am finding that as I get older it gets harder for me to keep my attention with one game. I am sure that I will give DFO another shot in the future, we shall see. Good to know the tip about turning off some of the UI to improve the frame rate.
I think that the actions of MMO Voice speak for them selves. They can have their fun in mambee pambee land, LOL. In a way I hope that they attack DFO just to see you go off on them would be pure gold, LMAO. Thanks for keeping it real my friend!!!!!

In fact I believe my first blog to introduce myself told them you brought me in. I just cant believe everything thats gone down and what the hell copy right stuff? I need to listen to this cast asap then I can form my own opinion and go from there. Needless to say mama aint happy about this stuff and you know me Yak I use words to get my point across even if they hurt if they are in the wrong the word will be spread till they feel it.

Okay listened to this before heading to bed its sad I just wrote a blog on guild airships on that site but I left, no amount of words can express right now how disapointed in MMO voices I am right now. If someone has an issue with their site being represented in a bad light you speak with the creator of the site try to come to an agreement. Having them not come man to man to Ryan and pull the sneaky low down tactic of trying to shut this site down burns me up. How dare they it was cowardly and childish and not indicative of a site I wish to represent my thought process.
And LOL your clicking on Kalari Ryan? hehe ^_^ im glad to see your prespective on this to and im definitely in your guys corner for this. Will be hitting Ryan’s show today when im done running errands.

Glad to be back Yak omg had time to think on it after some sleep. How dare they? You know they could have really came to Ryan and worked something out but instead they were underhanded that site has lost all of my respect in one fell swoop. I had an inkling of the thing between you and Cindy but with everything going on here I figured it would all blow over. I did not expect things to get this crazy and glad that its over from Ryan and Your perspective. I just know that I wont be associating with that web place anymore.
Now onto another thing I overheard you talking to Ryan about maybe a site for gamers like yourself and people like Sylvdragon and Myself to blog and it maybe a good idea. I was thinking about investing into a site one day “The angry gamer” I was going to call it but im sure thats been taken already lol. Either way if you guys do set up a blog site let me know what I can do to help. I just really hate that I put thoughts on a site of people who could believe in censoring gamers to the point of affecting a site that had nothing to do with them. And I guess now its back to My ddo and ddo daily for my blog and editorial pieces.

- Yak Cast 65 – “Waiting on Defiance”
- Yak Cast 64 – “The Calm before the Storm”

OK This is funny as hell…I have never once said one derogatory comment that was directed straight at MMOVoices, and hell, I rarely posted there. Out of curiosity since hearing about the video that Cindy posted I was like hmm…I’m gonna check it out (I like to look at things from all sides, its just my nature)…
I WAS FKING SUSPENDED!!!
lol WTF?? This is hilarious. I was suspended simply for being associated with Yak or agreeing with him on certain topics regarding 1st amendment rights. Really MMO Voice? Now that’s rich.
I actually would go so far as to say I defended one of your cronies or listeners (or both) in advising Yak to not post his or her personal info. – I’m a neutral party and I get banned from the site? LOL That cracks me up!!!
I feel like a celebrity now.
