@Auch Awesome!! Glad you enjoyed the cast and it was totally worth it, as it paid off to get someone as your self back into the game. Here is our current toons, as we are trying to break a bad case of ALT-Itious and just stick with one. It’s not that bad really,Hehehe.

I know what you mean about the alts haha. Hard to just stick with one, isn’t it? I’m currently playing a rogue (name is Still) just got level 7, but my main is a 17 mage (Abhor). Not playing him much. Not so much a mage fan.
I’ll shoot you a tell when I see you. We can group up and do some grinding.

Hey Yak! Great to have you back. This has to be one of my favorite episodes. Didn’t I talk to you about EQ back in the day when we were playing on Thelanis? I LOVED this game, and pretty much all other MMO’s are cuddly bunnies compared to this. Wait until they unlock Velious and you find your self fighting drakes on the other side of the world. You die, you have to walk allllllllllllllllll the way through a mob filled dungeon butt-ass naked just to get to your rotting frozen corpse.
I know people would be like “wtf would you want to put yourself through that”. Dude, if you can make it through the original EQ, you can make it through pretty much any other MMO out there.
Once I get my home PC fixed, you can bet your ass I’ll be installing this. I already own the Titanium edition EQ. One of the things I missed about EQ when they started changing things and adding teleports, was the boat. I don’t think you mentioned that, so I’m hoping they’re active. I used to love taking the long 15 minute boat rides across the sea. I would spend the time chatting with friends, fishing…or the sadistic side of me would come out and I would jump overboard for shits and giggles.
Oh what a great game.

@Sylvurdragon Glad you enjoyed it man! I can’t wait to see you in game as I am loving it. Me and a buddy login almost every night around 9-10PM CST to play for a few hours and have a blast. We both reolled Druids so we could get all the ports and buffs to help level our other characters like tanks that we plan to to play some day. If you see Diabeto in game say high, that’s me the Halfling Druid, hehehehe. Hope to see ya in game soon!

@Yak: Great cast. Did it make me want to try EQ1… yes. You two had an excellent exchange and delivered a lot of material. Very nice.
Other comments:
- Love the coinage: “Environment vs Player”, and “Player Hunted Environment”. Consider those two trademarked, copyrighted, right here right now, by Yak and friend.
- RE PVE, I can definitely appreciate good PVE, and honestly, so can the majority of the DFO community. Just replying to something that was mentioned. With that being said, there is a large subset of DFO players, and maybe the largest right now (given current population levels and the state of the game), that don’t really care about PVP.
- I like the merchants ability to buy and sell player found gear. Every game ought to have this feature. I feel like I’ve seen it before, but i don’t recall where.
- No gold farmers is great… that is great when they dont spam you. I dont care if people make and sell gold… after all, we all farm, some of us just resell it in real life… trade gold for dollars. What I specifically dislike is being spammed in private tells by gold sellers.
-You’re trackball has no scroll? Dude, check out the logitech trackball. It has a scroll button. If you are getting a mouse, I definitely recommend looking at the Naga mmog. You can use it for both games and work.
- Love VG. I seem to recall that decisions were taken away from the guy who was running it at first. Not sure if that was Brad or not. Need to ask Star Killer.
- BTW, changing your appearance via illusion can be a very cool thing. Such an idea was implemented in SB at one point. I THINK it allowed you to appear as if you were in somebody else’s guild… I dont recall clearly, just that there was some sort of mask. -

@Ryan, Thanks for all the feedback man! Yes, I would love for you to try EQ Classic! Let me know if you need any help with the intial setup! I am trying to setup doing a cast with the owners of the P1999 server. However, we need to do a cast as well and talk about the current staten of MMO’s and such!
