My site no longer looks like crap!
Finally, my site is fully fixed and now back in business. My site is 100% free from any hacks, virus, or malware thanks to Ryan! My site status on Google is now back to normal! Hell I even got iTunes now fully working again! You can subscribe to my podcast here. Since I have been busy with work and fixing my site this week, I haven’t had the time to do the next cast. However, it will be worth the wait! It will include a 30+ minute exclusive interview with Todd Harris from Hi-Rez Studios. There will be much discussion about Global Agenda, Tribes Ascend and Smite. Excellent! I play GA and as you say Yak, a perfect jump in and out game. The Sonoran desert, more please sir, Capt Riggs, and I’ll never forget when i felt so pinned down by the wasps, or wondering why a crazy naked scientist would run out into the middle of the waste land. Again, more please sir.
Get this out of the way first, my one and only complaint actually. Why does the launcher service need to run all the time. Seriously, I had to write a script to start the service when i start the game as i set it to manual. In all the years I’ve played video game I’ve never come across a game where they had to have their service running every second the machine is running, it’s semi disturbing actually.
Start the service when the player starts the game, turn the service off when they are done. Heck Steam doesn’t even run its service 24/7 unless your actually using it, and when you exit Steam it turns the service back off. Ask about this Yak if it’s not to late, ask em if they can do this, well, i know they can but “will they?” i guess is the real question.
Anyway I remember the first Boss when i was a new player and saying, WTF this game is unforgiving. Got in group with a couple much higher lvls, and it was still hard. So you could imagine how i felt after this.
I’m 11, signing up for medium missionary, a 7 pops in and a 9, then a 31, YES!; wait, nope the 31 bails, hey look at this us 3 again are put together, but this time a 21 OK still great, nope he bails, us three again, now a 28, he bails.
OK this happens a couple more times, don’t i feel like a misfit at this point, pretty sure the 7 and 9 did too. Getting passed off like that over and over, bottom of the barrel, finally another 11 pops in and agrees.
Working our way to the boss, you could tell they were new but hey i was not long before as well, when we started getting closer to the boss i thought, yeah we’re screwed.
Not because they were bad players, its the f’in boss. We get in there wiped, by the end, we pulled it off with less than 30 seconds remaining. I’m sure i don’t have to detail what great feeling it was to pull that off.
I remember the first time i lead a group and through a map I’d never been on yet. I usually would hold back and let someone else lead until i knew the map better, one map i get on an no one jumps out, eerrr so i did to kinda wake them up, they jump out stand behind me, errrr OK, so i move way ahead and they follow and stop, lol, I’m thinking to myself “Well looks like i’m the leader” and i don’t even have a clue, lol, and then one types in chat “lead on” to me. Perfect, in the end we pulled it off, was a great run.
