Hey Yak, glad to hear you’re getting into TOR. Great cast btw. You guys actually taught me a few things that I haven’t found yet! *gasp, this cast was educational!?!?! lol* j/k. Well done as always man. If you’re ever on Hyperspace Cannon, look me up. Hope to game with you later.
What server are you guys on again? I may make an agent over there once I get my bearings.

Yah i’ll ping you on FB later and let you know after I make a char on that server. Apparently Harbinger is one of the high capacity servers right now. Massively had an article on the top 5 highest populated servers. I may wait until they die down a bit first – I can handle 40 minute wait queues. Not sure if i’m ready for an hour and a half LOL

Listening to this now! Enjoying the cast. But look, and this is not necessarily bad, listening to you guys, it sounds like more of the same from the tab target genre (eq 4.0). The biggest difference that I’m hearing, and hear elsewhere, is that the game is BIG ON STORY.
Dont get me wrong, more of the same, but with differences, is not all bad… ultimately the genre will be perfected (you’d think).

I know yak will probably forever hate me for saying this but here it is. As far as combat….it really does not change a whole lot from what you expect from a premium themepark game. You level just like you would in any other theme park and you have about 80% of all the frillies that you would expect (guild stuff, customizable gear, acheesies, etc.). Where it makes its big pushes forward is that, as you mentioned, HUGE on story. There are times where i want to make another toon of the same class, just to try out different options in the storyline. Also, the visual quality is pretty high, animations are fluid and the sound quality is awesome. Its awesome hearing the sounds blasters pinging off of your lighstaber.
The game doesnt ADD anything really new to the MMORPG genre, what bioware did, IMO, is take the parts of the genre that they are good at, and uhhhhhhh were good at it.
They didnt try to rush into content that they weren’t already experts at. They started out this game with what they have excelled at. Great storylines which draw you in and make you emotionally buy into your character. No walls of text with small nuggets of salvageable storyline.
I see a bright future for this game, as long as they keep MOVING. There are plenty of frillies that are still being asked for that they have alluded to adding. There are also aspects of the genre i would like to see someone do something new in, and i hope that with what seems like a great launch, Bioware has the covidence to attempt something along those lines in the futuire expansions. -

Got it as an xmas gift, been a long time since an mmo/game has come along that i LITERALLY can’t stop playing.
It’s eating away hours upon hours and feels like minutes. Dude can you pick em or what. I wont be listening to your cast anymore btw, moving over to 100% pure swtor focused casts. You know I’m joking.
I play games all the time, the difference with swtor is i crave to play it and wholly fark, was i ever wrong about it’s potential.

@Blockhead I feel the same way about SWTOR. I try to make my stopping points at eh end of a quest story line as I get sucked in that I need to find out. It;s like watching a moving but having ti pause and watch the ending the next day. Me and my guild is playing on the Harbinger server. I hope yo see you in game some time.

@Yak, if you’re referring to the majority of the swtor population, that might be true; however, people change. So if swtor lures more people to mmos, that increases the total number of players that ultimately want something else (ie… a certain percent of the pop swtor intro’d to mmos will ultimately grow tired of the stagnant genre… i hope).
